The Coach D 5k is held each year to raise money for the Gene Daniels Memorial Scholarship Fund. New this year, the Coach D 5K joins forces with the Peak City Pig Fest.
Gene Daniels, known by many in the Apex community as “Coach D”, had a passion for teaching and coaching in the Wake County Public School System for 24 years. He will be most remembered for his tireless energy, unbelievable work ethic, his servant’s heart and for how much he loved his family.
His positive influence on students, athletes, parents, colleagues, and friends will live on in their hearts as the years go by. As he always said to his team, “We are more than a team. We are a family."
NEW THIS YEAR - the Coach Daniels 5K is affiliated with the Peak City Pig Fest in downtown Apex. After the race, head to the Pig Fest for the post race celebration and entertainment.
Register by June 2 and you will receive a race t-shirt.
